The Klondike Trail
A downloadable game for macOS
THE KLONDIKE TRAIL chronicles the journey of a poor farmer to the Yukon region of
Canada to participate in the Klondike gold rush. All in order to pay of the many debts his family has accumulated. In this spiritual successor The Oregon Trail, you and your brother must travel from Seattle to Dawson City in the Yukon, strike rich, and then return with the money to your family, all before the time limit runs out. Additionally, various events will occur randomly, which may make your live much harder or easier. Manage your resources and pace as you desperately attempt to participate in the ‘last great American gold rush’, and save your family from their impending debt, and the loss of the farm.

SOURCES USED:
The following sources are a combination of primary and secondary sources which we used to both shape the feeling of the game and create the ‘trail’ that the game follows. All but one of these sources chronical the klondike gold rush; while the Oxford History of the West does not touch on the klondike gold rush, but rather the many others that where in the same vein.
We go into much more detail on how we used these sources and what they are in our attached portfolio.
