Our Roman Empire
A downloadable game for macOS
Our Roman Empire
Placed in an apocalyptic 2024, John Navy Seal has been told by his general that time travel is the only way to save the present. After extensive research, the dots have connected. If Julius Caesar had not been assassinated in Ancient Rome, the apocalypse wouldn’t have happened. John Navy Seal has been tasked with traveling to historical Roman areas in order to make his way to Caesar’s death. Along the way, he encounters mythical beasts and Roman gladiators who attempt to hinder his success. He must maneuver the difficult terrain while avoiding or attacking enemies to reach Brutus and prevent Caesar from being killed.
This game was created for the History and Videogames class at our college. With a timeframe of 4 weeks, the group is very pleased with what we were able to accomplish. Had we had more time, here is what we would have liked to add:
-NPCs
-Enemy Health
-General Artistic Detail
-Character Movement
just to name a handful. Throughout our class, our classmates consistently praised our project while asking how we implemented certain aspects of our game so that they could have similar mechanics. The class taught us how to better our teambuilding and our public presenting while also teaching us the skill of creating the game.

SOURCES USED
The coins that have Caesar’s face on them are direct currency used in Rome and the image can be found here.
The title page is a pixelated version of the real life Roman Colosseum and the link to a variety of other pixelated art is here.
The majority of our game uses in-house created art by Miranda Hanson. Examples of this being the player model, the gladiator enemies, the Brutus sprite, and the countryside background.
