Project Overlord

It’s June 6th, 1944. After a perilous landing on the beach of Omaha, Ray Nance fights his way through a heavily fortified Nazi bunker. Become Ray Nance and slowly advance to the man behind the Omaha defense. If Nance succeeds, the Allies will secure a potentially decisive victory in determining the winner of WW2. Fail, and there’s no telling what the Axis powers might do.

 

Project Overlord is a top-down shooter featuring unique sprites, combat, and level design intended to provide the player with a hypothetical world where one soldier has to fight their way through an entire Nazi bunker. Ray Nance was a member of the Bedford Boys, a group of boys from Bedford, Virginia, among the first soldiers to land at Omaha. The Bedford Boys were the primary inspiration for the game.

 

The game is short, featuring just one complete level. However, the content of said level is very detailed. We included several historical references within the background.
